Our sights are set on planned growth in the future as well
Although global economic growth has slowed considerably since the end of 2008, we are still convinced of the opportunities for growth in Central and Eastern Europe. While the tourism market in Western Europe is nearly saturated, entering the Eastern markets is becoming more and more appealing due to increasingly favourable conditions there, for example legal convergence with the EU and the Schengen area as well as a shortage of existing high-quality hotel beds and services. In addition, private demand is rising rapidly as a result of the emergence of a growing middle class.
Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group’s sights are therefore set on sustainable expansion in an economic area that is gaining in significance. The realisation of the resort in Punta Skala, Croatia, and a new city hotel in the capital of Serbia that is in the pre-construction phase are the most striking examples of this.
FMTG limits its conducts of business to its established markets of Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and South Tyrol. The markets of southern Germany, Italy and ex-Yugoslavia also feature in the corporate strategy.
We consciously pursue regional growth that enables us to make optimum use of our resources and to maximize scale and synergy effects in operations and marketing.
